General Manager at Global Generator Business in Yangon, Myanmar

The ideal candidate's background for the role comes from extensive hands-on experience in managing day to day operation of the entire business, comes from service or technical background of handling generator servicing or experience managing technician and service personal, strong P&L experience, compliance and commercial

Our client is a Global Power Technology Leader specializes in diesel and alternative fuel engines and generators, related components and technology. Multinational company that designs, manufactures and distributes engine and has strong establishment in Myanmar market

Description

  • Plans and directs the operations of the organization. Provide leadership to grow revenue and profit of the business including full P&L ownership. The GM will lead a cross functional team through strong employee engagement, talent management and operations oversight

  • Manages compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards and compliance; oversees health, safety, and environmental audits. Encourages a culture of corporate responsibility for the benefit of employees and the communities in which the brand operates

  • Manages the day-to-day operations at a defined location, responsible for all functions and financial metrics. Develops a deep understanding of brand’ business in the region, globally, and across all business units

  • Develops and manages the business to the Annual Operating Plan with input from Business Development and Sales; monitors all appropriate business metrics including Branch balanced scorecards, profit and loss metrics, and asset metrics

  • Ensures business growth by managing annual marketing and sales plans; develops and maintains business relationships with customers and develops new business partners and alliances for the business segment or small geography. Manages market analysis for span of responsibilities

  • Manages customer satisfaction for the Branches as measured by Net Promoter Score and Lens of the Customer programs; encourages a culture of customer service; recruits, develops, motivates, and retains high-quality customer service employees

  • Ensure collaborative cross-functional network and business relationships with Asia Pacific Leadership Team, Territory Sales teams, JV staff leadership, and local country leadership

Requirements

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Business or related field required. Advanced degree in Business or related field preferred

  • At least 15 years’ experience in sales and operation management working experience. Prior General Management experience required. (Managing a large group of direct reports is preferable)

  • Knowledge of emerging-market business development and/or distribution operations is desired

  • Significant experience required, including supervisory, product, customer, and budgetary experience

  • Demonstrate fluency in English, both written and spoken
