Job Description

Chief Accountant at one of the Property Management Companies in Yangon, Myanmar

  • Overseeing the accounting operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the timely preparation of financial reports

  • Up to 1,500,000 MMK plus other allowances and benefits

The Role

This role requires to oversee all accounting operations within the property management company which are ensuring compliance with accounting standards, managing financial reporting, and leading the accounting team

About the Company

Our client company is one of the successful property management companies and focuses on managing and maintaining various properties, including shopping centers and office spaces

Description

  • Prepare and submit timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with local accounting standards and regulations

  • Ensure adherence to local tax regulations and international accounting standards, including coordinating with external auditors during annual audits

  • Monitor cash flow and financial performance, analyzing revenue and expenditure trends to provide insights and recommendations to senior management

  • Complete year-end closing activities, ensuring all financial records are accurate and ready for audit

  • Controls and checks all the operations of Finance department & including staffing

  • Monitors the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and other transactions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Professional certifications such as CPA or ACCA are preferred

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the property management or real estate sector

  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with local tax regulations

  • Strong knowledge of local accounting standards and corporate governance practices

  • Strong communication skills in both English and Burmese
