Chief Accountant at a Foreign-based Corporate Service Company in Yangon, Myanmar

• Manage and maintain accurate financial records including invoices, payments, and general ledger entries

• Up to 3,000,000 MMK plus other allowances and benefits

The Role

You will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Myanmar accounting standards and international standards (IFRS/GAAP), and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions

Description

• Maintain full sets of accounts and prepare all financial documents such as invoices, debit/credit notes, and payment vouchers

• Prepare, analyse, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes aligned with organizational goals

• Ensure compliance with Myanmar tax laws, accounting standards (Myanmar Accounting Standards, IFRS), and corporate governance requirements

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, capital expenditures, and cash flow management

• Coordinate and support external audits and tax filings

• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making

• Communicate effectively in English and Myanmar languages within an international corporate environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field

• Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is highly preferred

• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles

• At least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably in a corporate or foreign-based company

• Experience with Myanmar accounting standards, tax regulations, and international financial reporting standards (IFRS)

• Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems

• Strong knowledge of Myanmar tax laws and financial regulations

• Strong English Skills, both written and spoken
